Wipro Recruitment Process 2026: Elite NTH to Joining
Wipro's fresher hiring map: Elite, Turbo, STAR and WILP, the stages from registration to offer, and what Wipro's own pages leave unpublished.

PapersAdda is independent and has no tie to Wipro. Everything below comes from Wipro's own pages, read on 31 October 2026, and where Wipro says nothing, this page says nothing too.
Which Wipro programme are you actually in?
Most confusion starts here. Wipro's Early Careers page does not describe one fresher funnel. It lists separate programmes, each with its own audience.
| Programme (Wipro's name) | Who it is for, per Wipro's Early Careers page |
|---|---|
| Elite | Newly graduated engineers from across the country |
| Turbo | Engineering talent from 46 premier institutes, including IIITs, NITs, and select top private colleges |
| STAR Hiring Program | Talent from India's top 13 technical institutes |
| Wipro Integrated Learning Program (WILP) | BCA and B.Sc. graduates, working full-time while pursuing a sponsored M.Tech |
| Step Up | Non-engineering graduates entering Talent Acquisition, Human Resources, Workforce Management or Finance |
| School of Infrastructure Management (SIM) | Diploma holders earning a B.Tech in Information Systems while working |
The same page also lists programmes for MBA students (Wipro Summer Internship Experience and the B School Program), law schools, and newly qualified Chartered Accountants, who are hired through campus placements organised by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). If you are an engineering graduate from a college outside the Turbo and STAR lists, Elite is your route. If you are a BCA or B.Sc. graduate, it is WILP. For how Elite and Turbo compare once you are in, see Wipro Elite vs Turbo.
The Elite stages, as Wipro lists them
Wipro's Elite National Talent Hunt page gives the sequence. This guide uses NTH, the name on that page.
- Registration. A form on Wipro's application platform. Wipro's page calls it a "simple form" and says eligible candidates are invited in batches.
- Online assessment. Eligible candidates are invited to an 80-minute online assessment testing verbal, analytical, quantitative and written communication skills, followed by coding.
- Business discussion. Candidates who clear the assessment are called to a business discussion round with a Wipro team. Wipro does not publish the questions or the format.
- Letter of Intent and offer letter. After the discussion, you wait for the recruitment team to send the Letter of Intent and then the final offer letter.
Wipro's page also states that the parameters and procedure of selection depend solely on Wipro's discretion and that Wipro is not obliged to disclose information at any stage. That is why cutoffs, section counts and shortlist numbers floating around on prep sites cannot be traced to Wipro.
A caution on dates: the Elite page you can read today is headed "National Talent Hunt 2023", lists "Year of passing: 2023", and its contact instruction uses the subject line 'NTH - 2023'. It is the most detailed Wipro-published description of the Elite stages. It is not a notice for your batch. If your invitation email differs, your email wins.
| Stage | What happens | What to prepare |
|---|---|---|
| Registration | Form on Wipro's application platform | Exact marks for 10th, 12th and graduation, and your degree dates |
| Online assessment | 80 minutes: verbal, analytical, quantitative, written communication, then coding | Timed practice across all five areas, not only aptitude |
| Business discussion | Round with a Wipro team | Your projects and how you reason; see the Wipro interview process |
| Letter of Intent, then offer | Wipro's recruitment team sends both | Keep your registered email active and watch spam |
Eligibility as Wipro published it
Wipro's Elite page lists these conditions for its stated batch. Check each against your own batch's notice.
- B.E. or B.Tech is the compulsory degree, or M.E. or M.Tech as a 5-year integrated course. All branches are eligible except Fashion Technology, Textile Engineering, Agriculture, and Food Technology.
- 60% or 6.0 CGPA or equivalent in graduation, and 60% and above in 10th and 12th.
- The degree must be a full-time course. Open school or distance education is allowed for 10th and 12th only.
- One backlog is allowed at the time of assessment, to be cleared along with the 8th semester.
- A maximum of 3 years of gap in education is allowed between 10th and the start of graduation. No gaps are allowed during graduation.
- Graduation must be completed within 4 years from the start of the programme, and within 5 years for integrated programmes.
- Indian citizens, or holders of a PIO or OCI card. Bhutan and Nepal nationals submit a citizenship certificate.
This conflicts with a common claim. Many sites, including PapersAdda's own Wipro eligibility page, describe zero active backlogs as the rule. Wipro's page, for the batch it covers, says one backlog is allowed at assessment. Both can be true for different batches, which is exactly why you must read your own notice. For the CGPA side, see Wipro cutoff analysis.
The WILP route works differently
Wipro's WILP page, written for the 2025 batch, lists six steps: registration, an 80-minute online assessment, a 20-minute voice assessment, a business discussion, a Letter of Intent, then pre-skilling training before the offer letter. It says you join as a Scholar Trainee and sign a training agreement for 60 months. Eligibility there is full-time BCA or B.Sc. in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics, Electronics or Physics, with 60% or 6.0 CGPA, and Core Mathematics as a subject in graduation (Business Maths or Applied Maths are not accepted). Read the training agreement before you accept; the 60-month term is the biggest commitment on any Wipro page.
Where candidates get stuck
These come straight from Wipro's pages.
- Re-registering too soon. You can re-register only after 90 days or 3 months from your prior online assessment, and anyone who took part in a Wipro selection process in the last three months is not eligible.
- Waiting for an invitation that Wipro controls. Eligible candidates are invited in batches, and it is solely at Wipro's discretion to permit or restrict anyone's participation, eligible or not. Meeting every criterion does not guarantee a test invite.
- Using the wrong email address. Wipro's Early Careers page tells you to write to [email protected] about suspicious mail or job offers, and not to send your resume there, because that address is not monitored for applications.
- Treating a third party as Wipro. Wipro says it has not empanelled any third party to run recruitment drives, training or fee collection, and that only registrations made on its official recruitment website are valid.
- Expecting a reply instantly. The Elite page promises a reply to helpdesk queries within 3 working days.
What Wipro does not publish
Wipro's pages I could read say nothing about the date you will join, a document checklist, or the background verification steps. The Early Careers page and the programme pages do not give a month-by-month timeline from test to onboarding. Any week count you see for these stages is candidate-reported, and this page does not repeat one. On pay, the Elite page lists Project Engineer with joining compensation of INR 3,50,000, which matches the entry band PapersAdda publishes for Elite (3.5 LPA), reported by candidates. For the full picture, see Wipro fresher salary in hand.
WHAT PAPERSADDA THINKS
The honest read is that Wipro publishes less than candidates want, and most prep pages fill the gap with confidence they have not earned. Do three things. First, work out which programme you belong to using the table above; many freshers prepare for Elite when WILP or Turbo is the real route. Second, keep your registered email and your marks exact, since accuracy is the one thing every Wipro page insists on. Third, practise for the 80-minute test across all its areas, including written communication and coding.
On the lack of a timeline: do not plan rent, relocation or a resignation around a guessed joining month. Plan around the date on your offer or joining email.

Does Wipro allow a backlog in Elite NTH?
