PapersAdda 2026 Placement Cycle

What changed in 2026 drives

Mass-recruiter offer letters are flatter for 2026 batch - the 4-5 LPA ASE band has barely budged in three years while inflation eats real wages. Premium tracks (Digital, Pro, Elite, Specialist) are still where the differential lives, and they are entirely test-driven. If you are aiming higher than the default offer, the coding round is not optional pageantry - it is the entire interview.

What I'd actually study for this

  • 01Two solid coding-round answers (1 medium-hard DSA each, with edge-case discussion) > five half-baked ones
  • 02One real project you can defend end-to-end - file paths, design decisions, and what you would change
  • 03One DBMS schema you actually built (not a textbook ER diagram), with at least 3 join-heavy queries written from memory
  • 04Three behavioural STAR stories: failure recovered, conflict handled, ownership taken

Where most candidates trip up

The single biggest mistake is treating company-specific guides as primary prep and DSA as secondary. It is the opposite. Mass recruiters use the test as a filter, but premium tracks at every IT services company use coding to allocate offer band. Spend 70% of prep time on DSA + system fundamentals, 20% on company-specific patterns, 10% on HR rehearsal. Reverse that ratio and you collect the default offer.

DSSSB TGT PGT 2026 Delhi teacher recruitment exam pattern with subject syllabus eligibility and preparation strategy

As of 8 June 2026, the DSSSB TGT PGT 2026 notification date and vacancy count have not been confirmed here. Every date and number on this page is last-cycle-based or candidate-reported; verify on the official DSSSB portal at dsssb.delhi.gov.in, which is the binding source. DSSSB (Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board) recruits teachers for Delhi government schools including MCD schools and DOE (Directorate of Education) schools, one of India's largest urban public school systems.

This guide covers the exam pattern for TGT and PGT posts, eligibility, subject-wise syllabus, and a preparation plan.

DSSSB 2026 Recruitment Status and Source Discipline

DSSSB conducts periodic recruitment for teaching and non-teaching posts across Delhi government services. The structure is stable; the vacancy count and exam date appear in the official notification on dsssb.delhi.gov.in.

PGT Subject Sections (Post-Graduation Level)

PGT subject papers test at a depth beyond Class 12 and into early post-graduation. A PGT Physics paper will include thermodynamics, quantum mechanics basics, nuclear physics, and electromagnetic theory at BSc Honours level. A PGT History paper will include historiography, source criticism, and comparative history at BA Honours level.

Candidates should revise from their BA/BSc course notes and standard graduate-level textbooks for the respective subject.

Stage-Wise Selection Process

  1. Written Test: Objective, 200 marks (one-tier) or Tier 1 qualifying + Tier 2 (two-tier). The main scoring stage.
  2. Document Verification: Qualification certificates, B.Ed, CTET, age proof, category certificates.
  3. Medical Fitness: Pre-joining medical.
  4. Posting: Delhi government schools; MCD primary schools or DOE schools (Classes 6 to 12) depending on the post.

Preparation Strategy

Phase 1: Subject Section (Months 1 and 2)

The 100-mark subject section is the highest-weight component and the one where candidates differentiate themselves. For TGT posts, revise systematically from NCERT Class 6 to 10 and then graduation-level standard texts. For PGT posts, revise from NCERT Class 11 and 12 plus BA/BSc course material.

Use the previous DSSSB question papers (available on unofficial platforms; verify if DSSSB publishes official previous papers on dsssb.delhi.gov.in) to understand the question style and difficulty.

Phase 2: General Sections (Month 3)

The 100 marks of general sections (General Awareness, Reasoning, Numerical Ability, Hindi, English) can be covered efficiently:

  • General Awareness: standard competitive exam GK + current affairs for past 6 months
  • Reasoning: practise the specific types (series, coding, blood relations, direction, analogies)
  • Numerical Ability: DSSSB Numerical Ability is basic (percentage, ratio, profit and loss, time-work-distance, simple interest); cover these thoroughly
  • Hindi and English grammar: each is 20 marks; grammar rules and comprehension at Class 10 level

Phase 3: Mock Tests (Month 4)

Full-length 200-question mock tests under timed conditions. DSSSB selection is partly about managing 200 questions in the available time; time management is a skill separate from content knowledge.

Sample Questions with Answers

Q1. What is the DSSSB two-tier scheme? DSSSB Two-Tier scheme involves a Tier 1 (common objective test covering general awareness, reasoning, numerical ability, and language) that qualifies candidates for Tier 2, which is a subject-specific test at deeper level. Not all DSSSB posts use the two-tier scheme; confirm the scheme for your specific post in the official notification.

Q2. What is the difference between MCD schools and DOE schools in Delhi? MCD schools (Municipal Corporation of Delhi schools) primarily cover primary level (Classes 1 to 5 or 8), managed by the three municipal corporations (North, South, East; now merged as MCD). DOE schools (Directorate of Education schools) cover secondary and senior secondary levels (Classes 9 to 12 and some up to Class 8 as well) under the Delhi government. DSSSB recruits teachers for both systems.

Q3. What is the CTET requirement for DSSSB TGT posts? On a last-cycle basis, CTET Paper 2 (upper primary level) is required for DSSSB TGT posts (Classes 6-10). Confirm the current CTET requirement in the official DSSSB notification on dsssb.delhi.gov.in, as eligibility conditions can change between recruitment cycles.
